I couldn’t resist the opportunity to create an identity and online presence for our Church. Of course, it helps being one of only two graphic designers in the whole Church! My sister, a talented freelance DTP artist and graphic designer in her own right, is the other one, and we had a fair competition going to see which logo would be chosen. Unfortunately(for her), I based the website design on my logo, and sort-of one by default. Gallant, no?
The idea behind the logo was to create a welcoming feel while incorporating classic, corporate colours (red and grey). These then dictated the look and feel of the website, as well.
For a period of time, we maintained social media profiles on Twitter and Facebook. We created all the content on the site, as well as subsequent marketing materials, which will be the subjects of later posts. Lastly, aXent designed and created the building signage for our new Church building, too.
I’ve been lax recently in maintaining content on the site, but will keep it more current in future. Watch site developments here: www.vbbc.org.za.
